Michael Seater was born on January 15, 1987 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.  He attended and graduated from Etobicoke School of the Arts. He has been nominated four times and won a Gemini once. He’s also won LA’s Young Artist Award and was one of the 2009 Hollywood Reporter’s Next Generation Stars Of International TV. [x]

Michael began acting in the late 1990s and appeared in the short films Night of the Living and The Stone Skipper, and had minor roles in the direct-to-video film Future Fear and the made-for-television films Rescuers: Stories of Courage: Two Couples, Vanished Without a Trace, On Thin Ice, Dirty Pictures, Cyber Seduction: His Secret Life, the Hanukkah-themed Jenny and the Queen of Light. Seater voiced the title character in the series Mattimeo: A Tale of Redwall, which aired in 2000. [x]

Michael starred in the children’s show, The Zack Files in 2000 with Robert Clark and Jake Epstein. He played the character Spencer Sharpe, one of Zack’s (Clark) best friends. The series ended in 2002 after the second season. From there, Michael played the character Lucas Randall in the television series Strange Days at Blake Holsey High (Black Hole High) along side previous co-star Robert Clark from The Zack Files, as well as Emma Taylor-Isherwood, Shadia Simmons, Noah Reid, and Jeffery Douglas. The show officially ended in 2006 after a three-part episode finale.

He had a role in the 2005 film The Prize Winner of Defiance, Ohio, which starred Julianne Moore. He played Bud Ryan at the age of 15. In this film he once again worked with Robert Clark, and also worked with Jordan Todosey, who would later star with him in the popular children’s show Life With Derek.

In 2006, Michael began his famous role as Derek Venturi in Life with Derek. His co-stars consisted of Ashley Leggat, Jordan Todosey, Daniel Magder, Ariel Waller, Joy Tanner, and John Ranston. The show also frequently guest starred Shadia Simmons, his co-star from Strange Days at Blake Holsey High. Seater had actually penned two episodes of the series with his brother, Graham; “Grade A Cheater” and “Take a Stepkid to Work”. The show ended in 2009 after it’s 4th season. However, in 2010, the cast came back for TV movie, Vacation with Derek.

Between the years 2006-2007, Michael appeared in the recurring role of Owen on the series ReGenesis. And in 2009 he played the character Micahel Ray in the Degrassi TV movie Degrassi Goes Hollywood. He also played the role of murderer James Gillies in the Canadian show Murdoch Mysteries the same year. In 2010, Michael filmed the movie Sin Bin, which has yet to be officially released. Also in 2010, he starred along side Degrassi‘s Stacey Farber in television series 18 to Life as Tom Bellow. The show was cancelled after it’s 2nd season in 2011. He also wrote an episode for the show, Family Biz and guest starred on it as well.

Recently, in 2012 Michael reprised his role as James Gillies in Murdoch Mysteries. He also filmed a movie titled, Cubicle Warriros with Joe Dinicol, who he actually worked with before on Life with Derek. The movie also features Alan Thicke and Laura Vandervoort. It should be released in 2013. Futhermore, in 2013,  his character Ivan Buchinsky was introduced in the World War II Drama, Bomb Girls for their second season.

Michael is also currently developing two series with a major production studio.
